About
Welcome to Eighty-Three Vietnamese Cuisine, an exciting dining destination nestled in the heart of Champaign, Illinois. Located at 2502 Village Green Place, this restaurant serves as a vibrant hub for authentic Vietnamese dishes that promise to delight the senses and warm the heart.
At Eighty-Three, the commitment to fresh ingredients is evident in every dish. Customers rave about the quality, noting the freshness and taste that sets the restaurant apart. Their spring rolls are a fan favorite, crispy and bursting with flavor. The Banh Mi serves as a crunchy, zippy sandwich that has won over many patrons, including Dale Gleason, who describes it as "second to none." Each bite offers a heavenly combination of savory fillings that showcase the art of Vietnamese cuisine.
One cannot discuss Eighty-Three without mentioning the remarkable pho. Diners are often struck by the depth of flavor in the broth, which makes it an experience rather than merely a meal. Josh Kaminski praised it as incomparable, extolling its robust profile that "knocked the socks off" his taste buds. This hearty noodle soup, brimming with bright, aromatic herbs, is a must-try for anyone visiting the establishment.
The offerings don’t stop there. Try the curry chicken, comfortably rich and perfect for those who appreciate a hearty dish they can't finish in one sitting—exactly what Dale experienced. Or indulge in the pho-rench dip sandwich—a clever fusion that presents the quintessential pho broth, as noted by Lela Manis, whose experience was marked by friendly service and flavorful excellence.
The ambiance at Eighty-Three is equally inviting. Guests describe the staff as exceptionally friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall dining experience. Whether you’re enjoying a rainy day or celebrating a special occasion, the warmth and professionalism of the team make every visit worthwhile. As Brenda Mehnert shared, the portion sizes are generous, making it the perfect place to share a meal with family and friends.
In summary, Eighty-Three Vietnamese Cuisine is not just about food; it’s about a heartfelt experience that transports you to the bustling streets of Vietnam with each dish. “ I love this place! Fresh, high quality food that is so tasty! I'm addicted to their spring rolls and the Bhan Mi is second to none; crunchy, zippy and savory. The curry chicken is delicious and more than I can eat in a sitting. Update: love the pho! Tried the wonton soup tonight and I don't know how anyone can make something that delicious! ”
“ Was influenced by Bloomington’s Pop-Up Chicken Shop to try out this local and genuine Vietnamese cuisine. I was blown away by the detail and robust flavors in all items we ate for lunch. The Pho was incomparable and knocked the socks off my taste buds. Try this out NOW! ”
“ Really good food and service, the kitchen came and asked hoe we liked the food and were super nice. The pho-rench dip sandwich was excellent, the pho broth it was served with was super flavorful. We will be back to try a full bowl of pho and get the sandwich again!!! ”
“ My partner and I stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant on a rainy day and the food was absolutely delicious! Everything was cooked to perfection and the Pho broth was phenomenal. The service was very friendly and professional. We will be coming back at every opportunity. ) ”
“ Fresh & delicious! I had the Lemongrass chicken & my husband had the Banh Mi sandwich with Vietnamese iced coffee. Good portion size & friendly staff! ”
“ Amazing food! So fresh and authentic! Wayne the owner was so kind! Tyler took our order and brought us our food and his hospitality was top notch. Mama was in the kitchen and she made a special point to come out and say hello! We are from out of town and definitely will be making the trip again just to eat here ”
“ The food is excellent. I had the lemongrass chicken which was cooked perfectly. All the flavors paired very well for I'm the chicken to the pickled carrots and radish to the salad with cucumber. It was enough food for two meals. The service was excellent. I like that the menu is small and changes regularly. ”
“ Where do I even start at? From the food, to the staff, to the nicest lady in the back whipping up some of Vietnamese food that takes me straight back home. I came in to have dinner and was swiftly greeted by staff, I tried their recommended Pho with a huge beef rib, And their starter Spring Rolls with their house-made sauce. The spring rolls came out beautifully and packed with shrimp, lettuce and pork. There was also a secret crunch in the middle that gave it the perfect balance. Paired with their house-made sauce, it completely leveled the whole dish. It was a great recommendation and I recommend you to try it as well. Their Beef Rib Pho surprised me, Usually I tastes the broth and adjust accordingly; yeah no this broth didn’t need any adjustments. The broth was rich and very tasteful. The amount of garnishes was great and all of the veggies were sliced to perfection. That beef rib was so tender, It paired well with everything. Another great recommendation and I recommend it to you. Did I mention the Hanoi Beer? You should definitely give it a try. I believe it is the only place in town who carries it. To conclude, I definitely recommend you to try Eighty-Three. You can tell they take their time to curate their menu. Everything is labeled and explained, from starters to wine selection. It’s a tight but very well balanced menu. It’s one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in the state and local area. Amazing food, Great Staff, and a cool environment. ”
